Christmas Crafts Part 2

In this second part, we continue with Christmas presents but in the cookie form. I love to bake so this really was just a fun 10+ hours spent over two days. 

...I know, i have a problem.

Lets begin. First we have one of my staples for cookies, yummy Peanut Butter Cookies.

To spice it up for the Holiday, i added a Hersey Kiss to the center. (this post is brought to you by Hershey*, There's a Smile in every Hershey Bar!)

*not really brought to you by hershey but if the would like to send some products ... :)

Next up i tried a new recipe from "Mom's Big Book of Cookies." They are called Chocolate Kisses.

Made with Semi Sweet and White Chocolate.*

*as you can see, the White Chocolate ones tended to spread out in the oven and that didnt jive well with me. i would suggest for next time to use only semi-sweet chocolate. 

Last i made the most delicious Sugar cookies. The Cookie Recipe and Frosting come from the blog from my inspiration, Bridget from Bake @ 350. Her Cookies are amazing and if you dont read her blog or follow her on twitter, then you're not living your life properly.

I think i love the trees the most. so cute!

and even though the candy canes are pink and not red (because i didn't have Americolor dye, which i shall be getting in the future,) i think they were a good first run.

Over all i would score this as a success! Now if you'll excuse me, i have some cookies to consume :)

Christmas Crafts Part 1

So ever since i graduated (last Saturday), ive felt like i have had a horrible case of ADD. i cant seem to focus on one task, i need to do multiple things in my day to feel like im  accomplishing anything.

The other day (and post) i made a very Delicious Fuzzy Navel Cake, and today i was commissioned by my mother to create a gift to give out to her friends.

She first wanted just cookies (tomorrows post), but i suggested something else.

home-made Christmas/holiday bulbs. not that hard to create.

the first thing i did was cut about 2 inches of tinsel and stuffed it into the bulb.

I have learned that this is best done prior to painting, since there is always a chance that they will chip.

the first design i chose was trees outdoors. the other is a snowman. i think the trees came out awesome. the snowmen..........

they are a little special. (the one in the bottom right was created for me and everyone on IWC)

This took maybe 3 hours with various waiting times for drying. i used acrylic paint which worked wonderfully.

Tomorrow its cookies!!

anyways, i could not contain myself and found a recipe that i had majority of the ingredients.

The Fuzzy Navel Cake!

First and foremost the ingredients!

First Rule about baking club? Make sure oven is on and pan is greased. 

(side note: grease it really well, or else you will end up with a chunk stuck to the pan...woops)

 Mix the dry items together,

 add the eggs,

and the orange juice,

 take a moment and mix them together, i didnt end up using an electric mixer because i was lazy and...

 the butter was already melted. not chunks to worry about!

Last step? and the booze of course!

 ok so now its into the oven for 55 minutes,

 

 after the cake comes out of the oven, its time for the syrup! Sugar, water, butter, and booze!

 just toss it on the cake and watch it disappear! oooo ahhhh

and the finish product! just imagine this with a scoop of ice cream mmmm

So this is how i spent my day. its taking all my will power not to get the items needed for the peachy southern comfort cheesecake. one day at a time i guess :D

Hey, if you dont hear from me in a while, it might be best to let me be. i will probably be to drunk and fat to move :D:D

Cookie time

So a few weeks ago i had the genius idea to make cookies. The plan was to decorate the cookies, and place the pictures on Etsy.com to see and make some money. the problem was that i didnt/dont have the money for the paypal check thay they preform. so while this is still a possibility for me in the future, it wont be with these cookies. but i love them so much i just needed to share them with the world.

So this here blog thing

so i want to update this blog here more, but i fear that if its just random crazy things, im not going to do it (see 13 post in 3+ months) so i think im going to switch it up. instead of keeping two blogs (which i tried and failed (see 4 posts in 1 month) im going to keep the crazy on this one, but also add some personal stuff. Ive decided to finally change my life a bit. im working with an awesome website, -> calorie counter and am involved currently with a forum that has 10 females trying to lose 50lbs by March 1st.

 
With their motivation and yours if you wish to give it, i hope that in my postings here not only can  i brighten you day, but also inspire you to do something more!

Whats happening with music now a days?

Ive noticed that music today just kind of...sucks.

and since it sucks, it makes me miss my euro hits. like this:

Now you might be thinking, 'hey wait, i know that song.' its true you do. its this:

now i personally like Milows version. But this isnt just the only case. It will take me 10 minutes to find any sort of decent music on the radio (does anyone use FM radio anymore? is that why its crappy?) thats not depressing or slow in tempo. and then by that time i would rather listen to silence than the crap thats being played.

does anyone out there have some good, uptempo fun music that they listen to and could suggest so i dont get physically angry and kill my car?

So have you ever had a job from hell? I used to think my job from hell was the week that i worked at quiznos.

but now? I think its my job at the Deli in Downtown Petoskey. I dread going into work in the mornings. she plays favorites with her workers and usually picks one person to pick on for the rest of the day. The way she handles problems is ridiculous. you have one of two things that will happen. she will throw something, or threaten to fire you. both of which have happened to me within the past week.

so i pose this question to the people (aka my imaginary friends) that read this blog.

Have you ever had a job that was so bad (management wise) that you wanted to just say fuck it and school your boss?

can i just say WTF just happened on the third episode of this season TruBlood?

Im pretty sure i have never had a working gaydar. but im ok with that. 

Today at work we where discussing at departed co-worker. Two people i work with started to say the thought he was a fairy. I wasnt following what they were getting at. I never noticed any trait if there is a trait that pointed to him being partial to the same sex. This got me thinking, i have never really been able to be around someone and determine if they where gay or straight. And you know what? i like it that way.

I feel like not being able to judge upon a sexually preference has made it easier for me to get to know someone on their personality, which is awesome.

so moral of this story is maybe everybodies gaydar needs to break. 

Life might just be better off that way.

I have been missing somethings from Rome lately. Tonight i was watching Cake Boss on TLC and this old Italian Gentleman came in speaking Italian. At that moment I knew that I could enjoy fully learning the full Italian language.
